01Who we are
This website is maintained on behalf of the Ademolu Royal Family — descendants of His Royal Majesty Oba Ademolu Fesogbade - Opa Ase, 49th Awujale of Ijebuland — to preserve family history, maintain the family tree, and share announcements with family members at home and in the diaspora.

02Information we collect
Information you give us directly, when you use our Contact form or submit a family record:
- First name and last name
- Email address
- Mobile number (optional)
- The subject of your message (family records, archive material, an announcement, a general enquiry)
- The content of your message
- Any documents, photographs or files you choose to upload
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and security software may automatically log standard technical information — such as browser type, general location, and pages visited — to keep the site secure and working properly. This is not used to identify you personally.
03Why we collect it, and our legal basis
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your enquiry or message
- Verify and record family history and genealogical information for the Family Tree
- Publish community announcements — only with your explicit consent
- Maintain and improve the Library & Archives collection
- Keep the website secure and working correctly
Our legal basis for processing this information is your consent (given when you tick the consent box on the Contact form) and our legitimate interest in maintaining an accurate, respectful family record.
04Family records and genealogical submissions
Because this site's purpose includes documenting the Ademolu lineage, information you submit about family members — names, relationships, dates of birth, marriage or passing, and supporting documents — may be added to the public Family Tree, Library & Archives, or Media & Announcements pages. We will only publish information you have indicated is for publication, and where reasonably possible we will confirm with you before it appears on the site. If you would prefer information to be kept privately in our records rather than published, please say so clearly in your message.
06How long we keep your information
We keep personal information for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, maintain the family record you have contributed to, or as required by law. You may ask us to delete information that is not part of the published family record at any time.
08Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 (and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation), the UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation, or other applicable law, including the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your personal information (this does not apply to historical/genealogical records you have asked us to publish as part of the family record, which we may retain for archival purposes)
- Withdraw your consent to future processing at any time
- Object to how we are using your information
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@awujaleademolu.org.
09Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will remove it.
10Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you share with us. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11Changes to this policy & contact
We may update this policy from time to time as the website evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
